I Protest!!! Vigorously!!!!

  • Pink captures President Bush's callous disregard with heart-rending accuracy. This song makes me cry every time I hear it.
  • Jackson Brown's new song is fabulous! Lives in the Balance truly touches on the choices facing America today.
  • An Arlo Guthrie classic! You'd be amazed at how it fits our modern war ethics.
  • Bruce Hornsby's finest. We are treating the Katrina survivors the same way.
  • By Phil Ochs. Not what you'd think. He wrote it following the murder of three civil rights workers in the mid '60's. Still pertinent today, I fear.
  • This one's by Lindsay Buckingham. All hail the 4th estate!
  • Song by the late, great Harry Chapin. It references Vietman, but remains pithy.
  • By Bright Eyes. One of the best protest songs to come along in years.
  • From the musical, 1776.
Check it out - the reference may be Revolutionary War era, but the sentiment rocks!

Yummmm! That sounds incredibly delicious.

That's a good idea, not including the amounts. People do have different tastes.

It sounds like it would be tasty without all the alcohol burned off, too;)

Sigrid Jardin

Wow! That does sound fabulous. And I really enjoyed your courtship story too! It adds another flavor to your recipe!

Missouri Mule

I just lub to here how people courted and fell in love. This sounds so romantic, darl'en. And the Bananas Fosters, too!

oh, my god. I've not had breakfast yet, and this just went right to my hips. Yum. But I'm with Glenda, won't write this one down -- too yummy.

My brother worked in an upscale restaurant for a while (he is a fabulous cook) and Bananas Foster became his specialty, to be broken out on family occasions. We love it!

Thank you and I am going to serve over macadamia nut ice cream.

all I can say: WOW

O! Meloves Bananas Foster!

Yummy Bananas Foster! So sad, I can't eat it however, I am printing it so I can serve it to guests. Thank you. =0}

pissed off patricia

Yes indeed, it is a taste delight.

When the picture first popped up on my screen before the words arrived I thought you had posted a porn pick. LOL then the words fixed it.

I can't wait to try this recipe...I have had this same dish at the Wellington in the New Sanno and the presentation was only surpassed by its heavenly taste.

I have asked for this dish every chance I get, but nothing ever comes close...Like I said before...I can't wait to try this recipe!

The Fat Lady Sings

Dear David -

Thanks for stopping by! I wish you luck with the recipe. I have very fond memories of Wellington’s. Not to mention that very fine Japanese style restaurant located in the same complex (Kikuya). Both their Shabu-shabu (しゃぶしゃぶ) and Sukiyaki (すき焼き) was to die for! Please let me know how the Bananas Foster turns out!

Please visit again any time…
The Fat Lady Sings

David took some time but I finally managed to put together all the ingredients...and it was great! Now I just have to work on the presentation. Great recipe. Thank you again for posting the recipe!
