I Protest!!! Vigorously!!!!

  • Pink captures President Bush's callous disregard with heart-rending accuracy. This song makes me cry every time I hear it.
  • Jackson Brown's new song is fabulous! Lives in the Balance truly touches on the choices facing America today.
  • An Arlo Guthrie classic! You'd be amazed at how it fits our modern war ethics.
  • Bruce Hornsby's finest. We are treating the Katrina survivors the same way.
  • By Phil Ochs. Not what you'd think. He wrote it following the murder of three civil rights workers in the mid '60's. Still pertinent today, I fear.
  • This one's by Lindsay Buckingham. All hail the 4th estate!
  • Song by the late, great Harry Chapin. It references Vietman, but remains pithy.
  • By Bright Eyes. One of the best protest songs to come along in years.
  • From the musical, 1776.
Check it out - the reference may be Revolutionary War era, but the sentiment rocks!

I can't seem to get it to work. Of course, I am on dial up so it's slow going.

Incredible. Sort of a rube goldberg of humanity.

wowie-zowie! That was very amazing and thought provoking. Wonder what the artist thought it was about??

pissed off patricia

Well, that was fun!

Wow! Amazing. Where did you find that, and what do you think about it?

The Fat Lady Sings

I came across that through elgonzi .com (I put up their link on my post). I thought the animation was brilliant - very different - so creative. Considering today's political climate - I can't help but wonder if the artist (from Chile, I believe) was making an anti-war statement. There were elements of religion/theocracy there - blind worship and its destructive power. Add in hypocritical decadence (the man with the two women in the hot-tub), and an industrial complex gone bad - and you have a political situation not exclusive to the United States. Chile is also going through a great deal of upheaval these days as well. Pretty cool graphics - wouldn't you say? If I were a musician looking to come up with the next hot video - I'd hire this animator in a heartbeat! Hell - from a director’s point of view - I could blend this animator’s style in with almost any genre from jazz to rap; not to mention what I could do mixing media. Hello Eminem!

That is awesome. What a comment on our civilization. Machines r us.
