I Protest!!! Vigorously!!!!

  • Pink captures President Bush's callous disregard with heart-rending accuracy. This song makes me cry every time I hear it.
  • Jackson Brown's new song is fabulous! Lives in the Balance truly touches on the choices facing America today.
  • An Arlo Guthrie classic! You'd be amazed at how it fits our modern war ethics.
  • Bruce Hornsby's finest. We are treating the Katrina survivors the same way.
  • By Phil Ochs. Not what you'd think. He wrote it following the murder of three civil rights workers in the mid '60's. Still pertinent today, I fear.
  • This one's by Lindsay Buckingham. All hail the 4th estate!
  • Song by the late, great Harry Chapin. It references Vietman, but remains pithy.
  • By Bright Eyes. One of the best protest songs to come along in years.
  • From the musical, 1776.
Check it out - the reference may be Revolutionary War era, but the sentiment rocks!

They are both so adorable! I'm relieved to hear they're both doing better and prayers will continue.....

SB_Gypsy

Hope they keep improving. Bitsy looks wiped out, but clear eyed. Smokey Joe, however, looks like he's going to jump up and run around any second!

Yay! On Bitsy and Smokey Joe feeling better, and Yay! on the new vet. It's great to have someone you can rely on for the health of the critters.
I could take my cats to many different vets in the area. There are cheaper ones in outlaying areas, too. I elect to take mine to their doctor because he's convenient and he's a darned good doctor. The kitties are afraid of him, but they're afraid of everyone.
One lady was telling us of a mobile vet that came to see their dog. Apparently, the dog didn't behave and the vet refused to treat the dog!
Anyway, again, yay! I'm happy for you and for the little ones:)

I'm glad you found the new vet. Good that both Bitsy and Smoky are improving, I hope they continue. Good news, for sure.

Good thoughts and wishes for your pets. We're nursing one of our cats through a nasty infection brought on by multiple (cat fight) punctures.

How I love hearing your good news, FLS! I'm happy to hear that it's the work of a new vet.

Good news... A spot of it is always welcome when the world is wobbling... Peace and congrats...

The Fat Lady Sings

I know. I had to stop watching the news today. I made it up until Bolton began pontificating after the UN Security Council meeting - then I just had to walk away. We seem on the brink again. Worse even than when India and Pakistan were close to lobbing nuclear bombs at each other. The anathema against doing that seems to have faded lately. When Bush actually said he'd consider using ‘tactical’ nuclear weapons - he opened it up for everyone. So I'm scared. Remember the film 'Wizards'? Bashki began it with "The first nuclear bomb was set off by terrorists". How prescient was that?

Sooooo glad to hear aobut the progress of the babies. My in-laws live next-door and they are elderly and ailing. I think the dog must know it too...he's aged also...I usually get a raucous hello from him and this time he didn't move. So I called him to me...he came slowly. I keep telling HER that he's losing weight...she won't listen to me. I think they forget to feed him some of the time. I frequently check to make sure. He is old and I guess slowing down...so I'll probably be the one to take care of it when the time comes. He's a Llasa Apso (sp) and the sweetest thing. He's been the puppy I leaned on when I had to put mine down. They don't know how to sweet-talk animals...so I do it and he eats it up. More people should talk to animals that way... it's therapeutic.

So nice to read this good news! And I like the pics.

Hooray. So glad to hear that both babies are doing better. I know what a relief that must be.
