I Protest!!! Vigorously!!!!

  • Pink captures President Bush's callous disregard with heart-rending accuracy. This song makes me cry every time I hear it.
  • Jackson Brown's new song is fabulous! Lives in the Balance truly touches on the choices facing America today.
  • An Arlo Guthrie classic! You'd be amazed at how it fits our modern war ethics.
  • Bruce Hornsby's finest. We are treating the Katrina survivors the same way.
  • By Phil Ochs. Not what you'd think. He wrote it following the murder of three civil rights workers in the mid '60's. Still pertinent today, I fear.
  • This one's by Lindsay Buckingham. All hail the 4th estate!
  • Song by the late, great Harry Chapin. It references Vietman, but remains pithy.
  • By Bright Eyes. One of the best protest songs to come along in years.
  • From the musical, 1776.
Check it out - the reference may be Revolutionary War era, but the sentiment rocks!

Sweetie, no thanks needed, you reap what you sow, and you've been sowing goodness for a long time.

Edward Mitchell

Thank you

Glenda

I remember a comment you made months ago, that your blog was not politically oriented. Funny how a few things stick in one's mind and everything else, like where the car keys are, remain a mystery.
I know you two will work well together.

Hola, TFLS, you are a strong and brave woman to take on the currents of politics. You will learn many new things and bring your experience to play in this race.

Jerseycynic

"Politics makes strange bedfellows"----ever since I heard that, as a child, I figured that you have to be a sound sleeper to be a politician.
Having grown up, I wonder how most of them EVER sleep...?

If your candidate is honest, clear-thinking, and bold, you have a chance of winning. Better than that, she DESERVES to win since 99% of the politicians are not gifted with those simple attributes.

It is so difficult to unseat the incumbents - - - apparently, their asses are Crazy Glued to the seat once they are elected.
Umbrage at the war, at Repubs in general, and at the poor fiscal decisions of the past 8 years may make it a lot easier for an upstart to win.
Good Luck, and run a clean but intelligent campaign!! And don't take any shit from the opponent: innuendo has ruined many a candidate.

That is just so darned cool! I think you're going to have a lot of fun, but boy, will you be busy!

After this, perhaps you should consider running for President. God knows our countries could use more level headed and caring females in places of power. Well I can hope, can't I? LOL

What sbgypsy said in spades!
